Avery Design Group LLC (ADG) founder and managing partner Scott Avery is an Arizona native, who has participated in the growth of Phoenix communities since the late 90s. ADG consistently executes quality residential building projects including custom plan design, drafting, and submittals for multiple homeowners, investors, as well as contractors the Phoenix area.
Scott started drafting during high school and his early construction experience was with a Design/Build Contractor where he prepared plans for permitting but also functioned as an apprentice journeyman, learning all construction trades in the field. He also developed valuable relationships with subcontractors as well as inspectors and city planners. He later attended ASU’s School of Architecture as a third generation Sun Devil.
Scott then worked for a large national architecture firm, where he progressed from an entry level Drafter to being a Project Manager. He managed the design, development, and construction of several residential communities in a wide variety of styles and scales. He was repeatedly asked by senior executives within the company to independently develop plans for their smaller projects, including additions and remodeling of their own homes.
He later transitioned to work with another architectural firm specializing in government buildings. His primary role was undertaking the evaluation of existing facilities including office buildings, museums, and recreation centers to recommend repairs and future remodeling to improve functionality and comply with current codes.
This led to being recruited by an established general contractor undertaking customer acquisition, plan design, and construction management for a wide assortment of projects including total rebuilds due to major insurance claims (fire/water damage). Phoenix area market conditions inspired Scott to consolidate his attention to the design and execution of custom homes and major residential remodels with Avery Design Group LLC.
